Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for requests needing 1950s Florida home-movie footage of underwater recreation, marine viewing, or a woman interacting with fish for documentary, museum, or memory-sequence use.
Period detail: The light swimsuit, 8mm color handling, and home-movie framing support a mid-century leisure context, though the visible scene itself offers few date-specific clues beyond the supplied 1952 metadata.
Home-movie behavior: The swimmer smiles toward the camera, turns underwater, and appears to pose playfully while fish pass close by, giving the clip an unstaged personal-travel quality.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a woman underwater, a light-colored swimsuit, small fish, aquatic plants, blue water, a pole or rail, bubbles, and dark contact-sheet borders.
Film character: The footage has soft 8mm color, blue-green shifts, visible grain, uneven exposure, and motion blur that read as authentic physical-film texture from underwater filming.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a brief insert, memory beat, or aquatic cutaway within sequences about Florida travel, mid-century leisure, underwater attractions, or personal home movies.
Historical context: The clip shows recreational underwater filming with a woman and fish, reflecting a private leisure moment rather than a clearly identifiable public event or named location.
Research note: A visible adult face and body require likeness review, while copyright status, location rights, and any aquarium or attraction permissions should be checked separately.
Research search match: Searches this may match include 1950s Florida underwater home movie, woman swimming with fish, vintage 8mm aquatic footage, and mid-century marine recreation.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with footage from the same reel, then other 1952 Florida clips, then related underwater swimming, fish, aquarium, marine life, or vacation home-movie material.
