Kansas USA-1958: Scene Of Three Men Wearing Different Colored Outdoors Hats And

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit

Fills a 1950s small-city street documentation need for documentary editors covering postwar American everyday life or Kansas regional history.

Period detail

The man's wire-rimmed glasses, flat cap, and heavy overcoat are consistent with late-1950s working men's fashion; a Clark Medical Clinic sign is legible in the background.

Home-movie behavior

The candid close-up — someone filmed an acquaintance mid-conversation on a city sidewalk — captures the unstaged informality typical of 8mm family recording.

What appears in frame

Middle-aged man in flat cap and wire-rimmed glasses, dark heavy coat, collared shirt; Clark Medical Clinic sign on a brick facade; partial figure in background; city sidewalk setting.

Film character

Classic 8mm gate vignetting frames each shot in organic darkness, with warm color drift and moderate grain giving the footage its authentic period texture.

Edit role

Works as a candid character insert or period street-scene cutaway in a 1950s American documentary, or as a memory-register close-up in personal history narratives.

Historical context

The Clark Medical Clinic signage suggests a small commercial district; the subject's clothing and film quality are visually consistent with a 1958 date as claimed in metadata.

Research note

An identifiable adult face is clearly visible throughout; a readable business name (Clark Medical Clinic) appears in background — both require editorial rights assessment before broadcast use.

Research search match

Useful for searches on 1950s Kansas street footage, postwar American everyday life, 8mm home movie man outdoors, or vintage small-city commercial district.

Archive pairing path

Pair first with other clips from the same reel; then with Kansas or Midwest street scenes from the mid-to-late 1950s; then with 8mm footage of everyday American men in period clothing.
