Vintage Car Driving Past Man Throwing Ball To Friend In Park — Clip Details

Vintage 8mm home movie footage from Idaho, USA, in 1955, showing a man in a dark shirt and pants standing in a grassy park, throwing a ball. A classic red and white sedan drives past on the road behind him, framed by large leafy trees. The scene is captured through a dark vignette, characteristic of old film, with natural daylight and a slightly soft focus. The clip ends with motion blur, suggesting camera movement or a quick pan, preserving the authentic feel of a personal family recording from the mid-20th century.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Serves 1950s Americana documentary requests needing candid leisure footage with incidental period automotive detail from the mid-20th century American West.
Period detail: A two-tone sedan consistent with mid-1950s American styling is visible on the road; casual dark clothing on the male subject and the open park setting support the stated 1955 Idaho date.
Home-movie behavior: The subject is filmed at a relaxed distance in mid-throw, suggesting an informal family outing rather than a staged performance for the camera.
What appears in frame: Grassy park lawn, large mature deciduous trees, a man in dark shirt and pants, a mid-century sedan on a road, distant low-profile buildings, natural summer daylight, and dark 8mm vignette borders.
Film character: Characteristic 8mm edge vignetting frames the image; soft consumer-lens focus and handheld motion blur in later frames reinforce the period authenticity of this personal home-movie record.
Edit role: Functions as a period-establishing leisure cutaway or memory insert in 1950s Americana sequences; the passing sedan provides incidental automotive context without requiring a dedicated vehicle shot.
Historical context: Casual outdoor ball-play in a public park reflects mid-century American recreational culture; the visible period automobile may assist costume and prop researchers in narrowing the production year.
Research note: At least one adult face is visible and identifiable at edit resolution; standard unverified likeness considerations apply — consult a clearance specialist before broadcast or commercial release.
Research search match: 1950s Idaho home movie park leisure, mid-century outdoor recreation USA, vintage American sedan street 8mm, candid family outing 1955.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent clips from the same reel or Idaho 1955 home-movie batch; then with other 1950s American park or outdoor leisure footage; then with mid-century roadside automotive material.
