Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1950s California civic-parade sequences needing home-movie footage of a costumed woman waving from a decorated float before a public crowd.
Period detail: The swimsuit styling, pennant-trimmed float, crown motif, and mid-century streetscape support a 1952 civic celebration setting in California.
Home-movie behavior: The value is in the spectator-level home-movie view, with the camera following a parade float and catching crowds watching from the street, windows, balconies, and roofline.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a woman in a turquoise one-piece swimsuit, a GEORGIA float sign, crown decoration, pennant flags, uniformed men, crowds, palm trees, and a multi-story building.
Film character: The 8mm scan has soft focus, color fading, visible grain, handheld framing, and brief motion blur that read as original mid-century amateur film texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a brief parade insert, civic-celebration cutaway, regional-Americana transition, or memory beat within a 1950s public-event sequence.
Historical context: The footage shows a public civic pageant atmosphere, with a costumed female participant elevated above a dense crowd and spectators using building balconies for a better view.
Research note: People and faces are visible, the GEORGIA lettering and parade signage should be reviewed, and likeness or event permissions are separate from copyright status.
Research search match: Matches searches for 1952 California 8mm parade float, mid-century civic celebration, woman waving on decorated car, and home-movie crowd footage.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then other 1952 California parade footage, then broader 1950s civic celebrations, pageants, and crowd scenes.
