Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for requests needing 1960s American home-movie footage of summer lake recreation, water skiing, or mid-century leisure for documentary, museum, or educational edits.
Period detail: The 8mm color look, swimwear, small motorboat, and orange life vest support a 1961 home-movie setting, with the Grand Rapids, Michigan location coming from supplied metadata.
Home-movie behavior: The clip has an unstaged family-film perspective, watching a woman ski past from shore or another fixed lakeside vantage as the boat and tow rope move through frame.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a woman water skiing, an orange life vest, white swimwear, a small motorboat, tow rope, lake spray, dark frame edges, and a tree-lined shore.
Film character: The footage shows soft 8mm focus, saturated mid-century color, visible grain, slight gate shadowing, and contact-print frame borders that give useful archival texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a brief recreation insert, summer-memory beat, lake-sport cutaway, or transitional shot within a sequence about leisure or family travel.
Historical context: The scene reflects recreational water-skiing culture on an inland lake, showing casual outdoor sport rather than a staged competition or public event.
Research note: A woman is visible and may require likeness review, while no logos, children, private property, or audible music are indicated; copyright and personality rights should be assessed separately.
