Mid-Century Building Beside Lake With Autumn Tree — Clip Details

Vintage 8mm home movie footage from Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA, in 1974, showing a large mid-century modern building with a distinctive grid of windows, situated beside a calm body of water. A prominent tree with yellow-green autumn leaves stands in the foreground, partially obscuring the view. The film exhibits characteristic Super 8 grain, color fading, and slight camera shake, capturing a quiet, nostalgic moment of a public or institutional building, possibly a hotel or office complex, under bright daylight. The scene is devoid of people or movement, emphasizing the architecture and natural surroundings.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: This clip supports 1970s Colorado Springs or mid-century institutional architecture requests needing a quiet exterior establishing shot for documentary, museum, education, or period commercial edits.
Period detail: The large gridded facade, flat-roofed massing, waterside terrace, parked car, and autumn tree may show a 1970s view of a hotel, office, or public building in Colorado Springs.
Home-movie behavior: The footage has the value of a visitor-shot home movie, holding on a building across water without staging, narration, or visible public activity.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a multi-story window-grid building, calm water in the foreground, a yellow-green autumn tree, evergreen landscaping, a terrace or walkway, and a parked car near the entrance.
Film character: The 8mm scan shows soft focus, visible grain, slight handheld drift, faded color, and contact-sheet gate edges that preserve the texture of small-gauge home-movie film.
Edit role: An editor could use this as an exterior cutaway, architectural insert, location transition, or quiet memory beat within a 1970s Colorado or institutional setting sequence.
Historical context: The scene documents a car-era built environment beside landscaped water, emphasizing mid-century architecture and maintained grounds rather than street life or human activity.
Research note: No people, faces, readable logos, or audible music are indicated, but the building identity and any property or copyright considerations should be reviewed separately from likeness clearance.
Research search match: Useful search matches include 1974 Colorado Springs 8mm building beside lake, 1970s mid-century hotel exterior, home movie institutional architecture, and autumn tree waterside facade.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then other 1974 Colorado Springs exteriors, then broader 1970s waterside architecture or hotel and office building cutaways.
