Vintage 8mm home movie footage from 1973 in Salt Lake City, Utah, showing a man in a plaid shirt and dark pants standing on a rocky shore, looking through binoculars at a marina. A row of sailboats with tall white masts lines a wooden dock, with a prominent yellow boat in the foreground. A rugged mountain looms in the background under a clear blue sky. Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: 1970s 8mm home-movie footage suitable for requests involving recreational boating, marina cutaways, Utah travel, or lakeside leisure atmosphere.
Period detail: The clothing, small sailboats, wooden dock, and saturated 8mm color support a 1973 home-movie period reading without identifying a specific marina or landmark from the frames alone.
Home-movie behavior: The footage has an unstaged visitor perspective, with a man pausing on a rocky shoreline to look through binoculars toward boats and water.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include open water, a rocky shore, a man with binoculars, a yellow sailboat, rows of white masts, a wooden dock, and rugged mountains in the background.
Film character: The clip carries a physical 8mm texture with visible grain, strong blue and yellow color saturation, slight softness, and handheld framing typical of personal film scans.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a brief cutaway, transitional marina insert, or memory beat within a sequence about 1970s travel, boating, or waterside recreation.
Historical context: The scene reflects informal early-1970s leisure filming around sailboats and shoreline scenery, but the frames do not support claims about a named event, facility, or organized activity.
Research note: A person is visible from behind, so likeness considerations may apply even though no logo, audible music, children, or clearly identifiable private property is evident in the supplied metadata and frames.
Research search match: Useful search matches include 1973 8mm Salt Lake City marina, man with binoculars sailboats, vintage Utah boating footage, and 1970s home movie lake shore.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then other 1973 Salt Lake City or Utah water scenes, and then broader 1970s boating, shoreline, and travel home-movie material.
