Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1970s editorial or documentary requests needing quiet Salt Lake City waterfront, marina, or urban-edge establishing footage from 8mm home movies.
Period detail: The frames show 1970s color 8mm footage with sailboats, calm water, trees, and a pale stone urban building, with the date and Salt Lake City location supported by the clip metadata.
Home-movie behavior: The footage has a visitor-shot perspective, holding on scenic architecture and marina views rather than staged activity or identifiable people.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include pale stone building facades, mature trees, dark film-frame borders, docked sailboats, mast reflections, calm blue water, a small pier, and distant shoreline.
Film character: The clip carries 8mm texture through soft focus, visible grain, slight color shift, frame-edge darkness, and a steady but home-movie handheld composition.
Edit role: An editor could use it as a short establishing insert, memory beat, or transition between city, travel, water, and leisure sequences.
Historical context: The clip visually places a marina and urban architecture in the same home-movie sequence, suggesting how visitors documented Salt Lake City surroundings in the early 1970s without showing public events or crowds.
Research note: No people, children, logos, or readable brands are visible in these frames, but copyright, location, and any property-related permissions should still be reviewed separately.
Research search match: Relevant searches include 1973 Salt Lake City 8mm marina footage, 1970s Utah sailboats home movie, calm water docks vintage film, and city waterfront archival cutaway.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with nearby shots from the same reel, then other 1973 Salt Lake City or Utah footage, and then broader 1970s marina, sailboat, waterfront, or travel home-movie material.
