Young Boy Holding Onto A Young Girls Hand Who Is — Clip Details

Shot on 8mm film in 1964, this vintage home movie captures a sun-drenched suburban house in Greenwood Lake, New York. The footage features a distinctive purple color cast and visible film grain, with bright lens flares streaking across the frame. A leafy tree partially obscures the white clapboard house, and the camera slowly pans down to reveal the front porch and steps. The scene evokes a nostalgic, quiet summer day, with no people visible but the presence of a young boy and girl implied by the original title.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: This 1964 Greenwood Lake 8mm clip supports requests for quiet 1960s suburban or lakeside-community exterior cutaways for documentary, education, museum, or memory-based edits.
Period detail: The white clapboard house, simple shutters, small porch steps, lawn, shrubs, and handheld 8mm framing may show mid-1960s residential surroundings in Greenwood Lake, New York.
Home-movie behavior: The camera observes the house from outside with a casual home-movie pan, suggesting a family or visitor recording a familiar place rather than a staged architectural view.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a white clapboard house, shaded tree branches, window shutters, porch steps, shrubs, lawn, stone or gravel ground texture, and strong lens flare across the frame.
Film character: The footage has dense 8mm grain, a pronounced purple color cast, soft focus, gate edges, slight handheld instability, and bright flare that read as physical-film archival texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a short exterior insert, neighborhood establishing beat, transition into a family-memory sequence, or quiet cutaway between people-focused home-movie moments.
Historical context: As an exterior home-movie view, the clip documents residential architecture and yard presentation associated with a small New York community without establishing ownership, occupants, or specific events.
Research note: No people, faces, logos, or audible music are visible or indicated, but copyright, location identification, and any property-release needs should be reviewed separately for the intended use.
Research search match: Useful search matches include 1964 Greenwood Lake home movie, 1960s New York house exterior, 8mm suburban residence, purple color cast film, and vintage porch cutaway.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then other 1964 Greenwood Lake material, then broader 1960s home-movie exteriors of houses, yards, porches, and quiet residential streets.
