Hunter and Dog in Field — Clip Details

A vintage 8mm home movie from Lubbock, Texas, 1956, captures a hunter and his white hunting dog in a dry, brush-covered field. The man, wearing a brown jacket and light-colored pants, holds a rifle as he moves through the terrain. His dog, a white pointer with a collar, runs and scours the ground, actively tracking game. The footage exhibits classic Super 8 film grain, warm color tones, and a handheld, observational style, evoking a sense of mid-century Americana and outdoor tradition.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1950s rural outdoor life, hunting, gun culture, and home-movie inserts in documentary, museum, education, or editorial productions.
Period detail: The brown jacket, light trousers, rifle, white pointer-type dog, and dry brush field support a mid-century hunting scene consistent with the 1956 Lubbock, Texas metadata.
Home-movie behavior: The footage has an unstaged home-movie feel, watching the dog work through brush while the hunter follows at a distance with a rifle.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a white hunting dog, collared pointer-type profile, man with rifle, brown jacket, pale trousers, dry grass, brush, and dark 8mm frame edges.
Film character: The clip shows warm faded color, heavy grain, soft focus, uneven exposure, and handheld framing characteristic of scanned 8mm home-movie film.
Edit role: An editor could use it as a short insert, cutaway, memory beat, or transition for mid-century hunting, rural Texas, family reels, or outdoor recreation sequences.
Historical context: The scene documents recreational hunting as captured by a private camera, with attention on the working dog and the hunter moving through open brushland.
Research note: A person with a firearm is visible, so likeness and context review may be needed; copyright, model, and property rights should be evaluated separately.
Research search match: Likely matches searches for 1950s 8mm hunting footage, Lubbock Texas hunter, white hunting dog in field, rifle in brush, and vintage home movie outdoor sport.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with the same reel, then other 1956 Lubbock footage, then related Texas outdoor, hunting dog, rifle, rural field, and mid-century family-film material.
