Woman By Motel Pool With Patio Umbrella — Clip Details

Shot on 8mm film in 1966, this vintage home movie captures a woman in a purple dress standing by a swimming pool at a mid-century motel. A green and white patio umbrella shades a table with metal chairs, while a white car is parked in the background. The scene, viewed through a dark film frame, shows warm, faded colors and natural film grain, evoking a nostalgic 1960s American vacation atmosphere. The woman looks down toward the pool, creating a quiet, personal moment of domestic life.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1960s vacation, Puerto Rico travel, motel pool, and home-movie cutaway requests in documentary or editorial productions.
Period detail: The patio furniture, poolside umbrella, parked white car, dress, and motel-like exterior may show mid-1960s leisure travel details.
Home-movie behavior: The footage has an unstaged home-movie quality as a woman stands quietly near the pool and looks downward rather than performing for camera.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a motel pool, woman in a purple dress, green-and-white patio umbrella, metal chairs, patio table, potted plant, parked white car, and exterior walkway.
Film character: The 8mm scan shows soft focus, warm faded color, visible grain, dark frame edges, and slight handheld instability typical of home-movie footage.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a quiet vacation insert, memory beat, poolside transition, or establishing cutaway for mid-century leisure travel.
Historical context: The scene offers visual context for 1960s tourist lodging and casual poolside life in Puerto Rico without identifying a specific motel or neighborhood.
Research note: A visible adult likeness may require review, while copyright, location, and property permissions should be assessed separately for the intended use.
Research search match: Matches searches for 1966 Puerto Rico home movie, 8mm motel pool footage, 1960s vacation poolside woman, and vintage patio umbrella scene.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent reel material, then other Puerto Rico 1966 travel footage, then broader 1960s motel, pool, and vacation home movies.
