New York City-1960: Chrysler Building and Classic Car at Chrysler Dealership

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit

Useful for productions needing 1960 New York City street and landmark material with Chrysler Building views and period automobile branding.

Period detail

Visible clues include the Chrysler Building spire, mid-century cars, and Chrysler Automobiles signage that support the 1960 New York City metadata.

Home-movie behavior

The clip has a visitor-shot perspective, moving from a distant landmark view to a street-level look at a dealership facade and passing traffic.

What appears in frame

The frames show the Chrysler Building, dark city building silhouettes, a Chrysler Automobiles sign, storefront windows, street traffic, and a red-and-white car.

Film character

The 8mm scan shows pronounced grain, high contrast, soft focus, uneven exposure, and handheld framing that give the footage a physical home-movie texture.

Edit role

An editor could use this as a brief city insert, period transition, landmark cutaway, or memory beat within a mid-century New York sequence.

Historical context

The footage places automotive commerce and recognizable Manhattan architecture within the same urban streetscape without showing identifiable people.

Research note

Chrysler branding is visible, so trademark and contextual use should be reviewed separately from copyright, likeness, or property considerations.
