A Group Of Well Dressed Men Berrying At The House — Clip Details

A vintage 8mm home movie from 1957 captures a family gathering in a cozy living room, likely during the holiday season. A decorated Christmas tree with warm lights stands to the left as a group of well-dressed adults, including a man in a white shirt and tie, sit together. The scene shifts as a man in a dark suit and white tie stands and moves across the room, suggesting a festive celebration. The footage exhibits classic Super 8 grain, soft focus, and warm, slightly faded colors characteristic of mid-century home movies.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Supports requests for 1950s Nebraska home-movie footage of an indoor holiday or family gathering for documentary, museum, education, or editorial use.
Period detail: The scene may show mid-century dress, neckties, white shirts, drawn blinds, drapes, table lamps, and a decorated Christmas tree inside a private living room.
Home-movie behavior: The value is in the unstaged social behavior as adults sit close together, look down, talk, and move through a family living room.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include seated adults, a Christmas tree with lights, curtains, venetian blinds, table lamps, a chair, side tables, and a man in a dark suit.
Film character: The 8mm image has soft focus, visible grain, muted warm color, uneven exposure, and handheld framing consistent with scanned physical home-movie film.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a brief memory beat, holiday interior cutaway, family-gathering insert, or transition within a mid-century domestic sequence.
Historical context: The footage visually places well-dressed adults in a private Nebraska home setting, suggesting family or social gathering customs without identifying the occasion beyond visible clues.
Research note: People and a private interior are visible, so copyright, likeness, privacy, and property considerations should be reviewed separately before use.
Research search match: Useful for searches such as 1957 Nebraska 8mm family gathering, 1950s Christmas living room home movie, and well-dressed adults at house party.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then other 1957 Nebraska interiors, then broader 1950s holiday or family-gathering home movies.
