A View Of A House Made On A Base Of Rocks And A High... — Clip Details

Shot on 8mm film in 1975, this vintage footage captures a historic Swedish coastal fortress. The clip opens on a brick building with a stone foundation, set atop grassy embankments with rusted artillery pieces in the foreground. A narrow path winds through the green landscape. The view then shifts to a panoramic vista of a yellow house near a small harbor, with calm blue waters, distant islands, and a clear sky. The film exhibits natural grain and color saturation typical of Super 8 home movies from the era, offering authentic archival footage for historical or nostalgic projects.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: 1970s Swedish coastal home-movie footage for editors needing exterior fortress architecture, rocky shoreline, and harbor-view establishing material.
Period detail: The brick masonry, stone base, rusted artillery pieces, and saturated 8mm color may show a mid-1970s visitor record of a coastal historic site in Sweden.
Home-movie behavior: The clip has a visitor-shot perspective, lingering on fortress walls, grass paths, and a high harbor view without staged action or visible people.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a brick building, rough stone foundation, exposed rock, grassy embankments, rusted artillery pieces, paths, blue water, and a yellow harbor house.
Film character: The scan carries 8mm grain, strong color saturation, slight softness, and handheld framing that read as physical home-movie texture.
Edit role: Use it as an establishing insert, coastal transition, landmark cutaway, or quiet memory beat within a 1970s Sweden or Baltic shoreline sequence.
Historical context: The footage visually places historic masonry and older military objects within a public coastal landscape, followed by a calm harbor and island vista.
Research note: No people, logos, or brands are visible, but location identity, architecture, property status, and any site-specific permissions should be reviewed separately from copyright.
Research search match: Useful for searches such as 1970s Sweden 8mm coastal fortress, Swedish harbor home movie, rocky shoreline artillery, and vintage Baltic island view.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then Sweden 1975 coastal footage, then broader archival themes of fortresses, harbors, islands, and seaside travel.
