A Small Blue Airplane Taxiing On A Grass Field — Clip Details

A small blue and white single-engine propeller plane taxis on a grassy airfield in Sudan in 1969. Shot on 8mm film, the footage captures the aircraft from multiple angles as it moves across the field, its registration number AHZ visible on the fuselage. The grainy, slightly faded quality and soft focus evoke a strong sense of retro nostalgia, characteristic of vintage home movie footage from the late 1960s. The overcast sky and open landscape suggest a remote or rural airstrip.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1960s documentary requests needing small-aircraft travel, rural airfield activity, or Sudan home-movie aviation cutaways.
Period detail: The small single-engine propeller plane, grass runway, soft color, and 8mm handling may show late-1960s private or light aviation outside a built-up airport.
Home-movie behavior: The camera watches from a nearby vantage point as the plane taxis past, giving the clip the observational feel of traveler-shot home movie footage.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a blue and white light aircraft, propeller nose, landing gear, grass field, open sky, distant low terrain, and partial registration markings.
Film character: The scan carries visible grain, soft focus, slight fading, and handheld framing that preserve the texture of original 8mm travel footage.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a short insert, transition, or travel cutaway establishing movement by small aircraft in a remote airfield setting.
Historical context: The footage offers visual context for light aircraft use on an open grass airstrip in Sudan, without confirming the operator, route, or exact airfield.
Research note: Aircraft registration and markings are visible, so rights review should separate footage copyright from any trademark, aircraft identity, or location concerns.
Research search match: Searches such as 1969 Sudan 8mm airplane, small propeller plane grass airstrip, blue aircraft taxiing, and vintage home movie aviation may match this clip.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then Sudan 1969 travel footage, then broader 1960s small-aircraft and rural airfield material.
