Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1950s winter recreation sequences, Idaho home-movie context, or documentary inserts needing amateur footage of outdoor ice skating.
Period detail: The clothing, skates, color 8mm texture, and metadata-supported 1955 Idaho setting place the scene in mid-century leisure footage.
Home-movie behavior: The skater appears casually filmed while gliding and turning on the ice, giving the clip an unstaged family-film view of winter recreation.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a skater in dark outerwear, light pants, ice skates, frozen surface, tree-lined background, shadows, and motion blur.
Film character: The clip has warm color shifts, visible grain, soft focus, handheld framing, and exposure variation typical of scanned mid-century 8mm home movies.
Edit role: Editors could use it as a brief winter recreation insert, a memory beat, or a cutaway between broader 1950s family or outdoor leisure scenes.
Historical context: The footage shows informal outdoor skating as a personal leisure activity, with no visible signage or landmark details to narrow the location beyond metadata.
Research note: A person is visible, so likeness review may be needed; no logos, music, or private property are visible, and copyright status should be checked separately.
Research search match: Matches searches for 1955 Idaho 8mm ice skating, 1950s home movie winter recreation, man skating on frozen pond, and vintage amateur sports footage.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent footage from the same reel, then other Idaho 1955 winter scenes, then broader 1950s outdoor recreation or skating material.
