Men Wearing Shirts Hugging And Another Man Putting On A Sock — Clip Details

A grainy, black-and-white 8mm home movie from Chelan Washington in 1939 captures a quiet domestic moment. The footage shows a man in a button-up shirt and trousers, initially embracing another person in a close hug. The scene shifts as the man stands, revealing his bare feet, and proceeds to put on a sock. The handheld camera work and high film grain are characteristic of amateur Super 8 footage from the era, offering a candid glimpse into everyday life during the late 1930s.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1930s home-movie requests needing a brief domestic dressing or casual male interaction moment from Chelan, Washington.
Period detail: The button-up shirt, trousers, bare feet, and sparse interior setting may show late-1930s everyday dress and private domestic routine.
Home-movie behavior: The clip preserves an unstaged household moment as one man bends and handles a sock while another close interaction appears earlier in the sequence.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a shirted man, trousers, bare feet, a sock, a nearby wall or cabinet, soft interior shadows, and heavy frame borders.
Film character: The 8mm black-and-white image has dense grain, uneven exposure, soft focus, and handheld framing that read as authentic home-movie texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a short domestic insert, memory beat, or transitional cutaway for everyday life and getting-dressed sequences.
Historical context: The footage offers a small social glimpse of informal male domestic life without supporting broader claims beyond the stated 1939 Chelan context.
Research note: People are visible, so likeness and privacy review may be needed even though no logos, music, or clear brands are visible in these frames.
Research search match: Matches searches for 1939 Chelan Washington home movie, 1930s men indoors, barefoot man putting on sock, and black-and-white 8mm domestic footage.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent footage from the same reel, then other Chelan 1939 clips, then broader 1930s home-movie dressing or household routines.
