Four Men In Tan Jackets Hunting In Field With Rifles — Clip Details

KANSAS-1958: Four men in tan hunting jackets and caps stand in a dry, golden field under a bright sky, holding rifles. One man in a red cap and another in a green cap are visible, with one holding a bird, likely a pheasant. The footage, shot on 8mm film, shows natural movement and casual camaraderie, capturing a moment of rural hunting life. The grainy, slightly faded color and film scratches add authentic vintage character, evoking mid-century Americana and outdoor tradition.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: 1950s Kansas 8mm hunting footage suited for documentary inserts on rural recreation, outdoor life, family collections, or mid-century field sports.
Period detail: The tan hunting jackets, caps, long guns, open dry field, and faded 8mm color may show late-1950s rural hunting attire and casual outdoor practice.
Home-movie behavior: The men stand informally, handle rifles, and appear to compare or display a game bird, giving the clip an unstaged home-movie record of a hunting outing.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include four adult men, tan jackets, red and green caps, rifles, a possible pheasant, dry grass, bright sky, and handheld framing.
Film character: Soft focus, muted color, visible grain, gate marks, and light scratches give the brief 8mm scene a physical home-movie texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a rural hunting cutaway, a mid-century outdoor-life insert, or a short memory beat within a Kansas or Americana sequence.
Historical context: The footage reflects a small group of adult men participating in recreational hunting in an open Kansas field, without visible brands or identifiable landmarks.
Research note: Adult faces and likenesses are visible, so copyright, privacy, and publicity rights should be reviewed separately from the absence of visible logos or private property.
Research search match: Useful search matches include 1950s Kansas hunting home movie, 8mm men with rifles in field, vintage pheasant hunting footage, and rural Americana outdoor recreation.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then other Kansas 1958 material, then broader 1950s rural recreation or hunting scenes.
