Five Hunters Standing In A Windy Field Holding Large... — Clip Details

KANSAS-1958: Five hunters stand in a vast, windswept prairie field under an overcast sky, their figures silhouetted against the horizon. Shot on 8mm film, the footage captures the men in rugged outdoor attire, many wearing hats and holding rifles, as they survey the open landscape. The tall, dry grass sways in the wind, and the grainy, slightly faded quality of the Super 8 home movie evokes a sense of mid-century Americana. This authentic archival footage offers a nostalgic glimpse into rural hunting life in the 1950s.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1950s Kansas or rural Americana edits needing authentic home-movie footage of hunters moving through open prairie grassland.
Period detail: The clothing, hats, long guns, faded 8mm color, and open field setting may show mid-century recreational hunting culture in Kansas.
Home-movie behavior: The value is in the informal, unstaged view of a small hunting party standing, walking, and bending in tall grass as the camera observes from a distance.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include five hunters, long guns, hats, tall dry grass, low horizon, distant haystacks or brush piles, and a windy open field.
Film character: The clip has soft focus, visible grain, slight fading, uneven exposure, and handheld framing that read as original 8mm home-movie texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a rural hunting cutaway, a transition into prairie life, or a brief memory beat about outdoor recreation.
Historical context: The footage places armed hunters in a wide agricultural landscape, offering visual context for mid-century leisure and rural field activity without identifying individuals.
Research note: People are visible and may be identifiable only with further research, so likeness review may be needed separate from copyright or location clearance.
Research search match: Matches searches for 1958 Kansas 8mm hunters, mid-century prairie hunting footage, rural men with rifles, and vintage home movie field scenes.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with the same reel, then other Kansas 1958 clips, then broader 1950s rural hunting, prairie, outdoor recreation, or Americana footage.
