A Fountain In The Middle Of A Lake Surrounding By... — Clip Details

Shot on 8mm film in 1976, this vintage home movie captures a serene lakeside scene in Norway. A powerful fountain erupts from the center of a calm lake, its water jets reflecting against the overcast sky. In the background, a majestic mountain looms, partially shrouded in mist, with a town nestled along its slopes. Classic European architecture lines the lakeshore, including a prominent building with 'HOTEL NORGE' visible on its roof. The footage exhibits natural film grain and slight color fading, evoking a nostalgic, mid-century travel memory.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1970s travel, Norway tourism, lakeside city, or European hotel establishing inserts in documentary and museum edits.
Period detail: The footage may show 1970s urban waterfront architecture, a roof sign reading Hotel Norge, and a fountain set against misty mountains.
Home-movie behavior: The clip has a visitor-shot viewpoint, observing a scenic lakefront fountain and nearby hotel frontage without staged action or visible people.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a lake fountain, calm water, mountain slopes, low clouds, shoreline buildings, trees, and the Hotel Norge roof sign.
Film character: The 8mm image carries soft grain, muted color, slight exposure variation, and handheld framing typical of scanned home-movie travel film.
Edit role: An editor could use it as a Norway travel insert, lakeside cutaway, location transition, or quiet memory beat between itinerary scenes.
Historical context: The scene presents mid-1970s leisure travel imagery, with a hotel sign and waterfront setting suggesting a city visited for scenery and accommodation.
Research note: No people are visible, but the Hotel Norge sign is readable, so brand and location identification should be reviewed separately from copyright status.
Research search match: Researcher searches may include 1976 Norway 8mm lake fountain, Hotel Norge home movie, Norwegian mountain town waterfront, and vintage travel footage.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent same-reel Norway travel shots, then with 1976 Norway or Hotel Norge material, then with broader European lakeside vacation footage.
