An Old Goat Walking Towards Four Elephants — Clip Details

Shot on 8mm film in 1974, this vintage home movie captures a large goat walking through a zoo enclosure, viewed from a moving vehicle. In the background, a bright green classic American car drives past on a road, with palm trees and hills visible under an overcast sky. The scene transitions to a group of elephants near a zebra-striped safari vehicle, all filmed through a car window with visible frame edges and film grain. The footage offers a nostalgic glimpse of mid-70s Americana and zoo life.

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1970s editorial or documentary requests needing visitor-shot zoo or drive-through animal park footage from Southern California.
Period detail: The clip shows 1970s visual cues including 8mm color stock, period automobiles, a car-window viewpoint, palm-lined roads, and open zoo-style animal enclosures.
Home-movie behavior: The footage preserves an unstaged visitor perspective from inside a moving vehicle as animals pass near the car and a safari vehicle appears by elephants.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a large horned goat, elephants, a zebra-striped safari vehicle, passing cars, paved road, pond edge, palm trees, hills, and car-window framing.
Film character: The 8mm scan has soft focus, visible grain, frame-edge shadows, slight exposure variation, and handheld movement consistent with home-movie filming from a vehicle.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a short cutaway, transition, or memory beat for 1970s zoo visits, family travel, roadside Americana, or animal-park sequences.
Historical context: The scene reflects a mid-1970s recreational zoo or animal-park visit, with animals viewed close to vehicles in an open, landscaped setting.
Research note: No people or readable brands are visible, but animal facility identity, vehicle markings, copyright, and any property-related permissions should be reviewed separately.
