Archive brief fit: This 1938 New Jersey home-movie clip supports requests for Depression-era summer leisure, women's swimwear, and candid family footage for documentary or editorial use.
Period detail: The one-piece swimsuit, short hairstyle, and 8mm home-movie framing may show late-1930s casual outdoor recreation in a private garden setting.
Home-movie behavior: The woman smiles, waves, bends, and turns toward the camera with the relaxed awareness of someone being filmed by a familiar person.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a young woman in light one-piece swimwear, dense leafy shrubs, bright sunlight, a small light object in her hand, and a fixed garden viewpoint.
Film character: The footage has pronounced 8mm grain, high-contrast sunlight, soft focus, frame-edge darkness, and a slightly uneven home-movie exposure.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a brief memory beat, summer leisure insert, period swimwear cutaway, or transition within a family-history sequence.
Historical context: The clip visually situates a woman posing outdoors during warm-weather leisure, with no visible public landmark or event to identify the setting beyond the provided New Jersey metadata.
Research note: A recognizable person is visible, so copyright, likeness, privacy, and any underlying collection permissions should be reviewed separately before reuse.
Research search match: Useful search matches include 1938 New Jersey 8mm woman swimsuit, 1930s home movie garden, vintage summer leisure footage, and woman waving at camera archival film.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent footage from the same reel, then with other 1938 New Jersey material, then with 1930s leisure, swimwear, garden, or family home-movie scenes.
