Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: 1930s New Jersey home-movie footage for productions needing a concise leisure, swimming, summer recreation, or period swimwear insert.
Period detail: The one-piece swimsuit, swim cap, metal pool ladder, and black-and-white 8mm look support a late-1930s leisure setting.
Home-movie behavior: The swimmer moves carefully and naturally from the poolside to the ladder, giving the clip an unstaged family-film observation of a routine swim.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a young woman in a swim cap and one-piece suit, pool edge, metal ladder, water surface, dense trees, lawn, and deep film gate borders.
Film character: The clip has visible 8mm grain, soft focus, uneven exposure, and contact-print framing that preserve the tactile character of a scanned home movie.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a short cutaway, memory beat, or transition for 1930s leisure, summer, swimming, or period recreation sequences.
Historical context: The scene documents private recreational swimming and women’s swimwear style in a domestic or club-like outdoor pool setting without identifying the site.
Research note: A visible person appears, so likeness and privacy review may be needed separately from copyright status; no logos or audible music are evident from the supplied metadata.
Research search match: Likely researcher matches include 1938 New Jersey 8mm swimming pool footage, 1930s woman swimsuit home movie, and vintage swim cap ladder pool scene.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then with New Jersey 1938 summer footage, then with broader 1930s swimming, pools, and leisure material.
