Tall Green Trees In A Small Village — Clip Details

Shot on 8mm film in 1972, this vintage home movie captures a sun-drenched desert landscape in Arizona. The clip opens on a wide view of a palm tree grove under a clear blue sky, with a small bird briefly visible in flight. The camera then pans to reveal a mid-century modern house and a classic white station wagon parked on a gravel lot, surrounded by lush palm trees and desert vegetation. The footage exhibits natural film grain, slight color fading, and the characteristic frame borders of an 8mm home movie, evoking a nostalgic 1970s Americana feel.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1970s Arizona establishing material, especially documentary or educational edits needing brief desert-community or roadside-residential atmosphere.
Period detail: The parked station wagon, low modern house, and 8mm color stock may show early 1970s everyday travel or residential surroundings in Arizona.
Home-movie behavior: The handheld pan treats the grove, house, and parked vehicles as casual travel observations rather than staged subject matter.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include palm groves, blue sky, distant mountains, a light-colored house, gravel ground, a white station wagon, and a red car.
Film character: The scan retains 8mm gate borders, soft grain, slight color fading, dust marks, and uneven handheld framing as part of its archival texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a short establishing insert, transition, cutaway, or memory beat for desert settlement, travel, or 1970s Americana context.
Historical context: The clip shows a modest built environment set among palms and dry ground, offering everyday visual context without identifying a specific town or landmark.
Research note: No people, logos, or readable brands are visible, but copyright status and any property-related use should still be reviewed for the intended project.
Research search match: Matches searches for 1972 Arizona 8mm palm grove, desert house home movie, white station wagon gravel lot, and 1970s residential desert landscape.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with neighboring reel shots, then other Arizona 1972 exteriors, then broader 1970s desert homes, palm groves, roadsides, and travel cutaways.
