Colorful Autumn Trees And Army Corps Of Engineers Sign — Clip Details

WISCONSIN-1971: A vibrant autumn forest scene captured on 8mm film, showcasing a mix of green, yellow, and brilliant orange foliage among tall birch trees. The footage transitions to a close-up of a historical sign for the Upper Mississippi River Headwaters Reservoir and Pokegama Dam, constructed and operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The natural color saturation and film grain evoke a nostalgic, authentic 1970s home movie feel, perfect for documentaries, historical content, or vintage Americana projects.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: 1970s 8mm Wisconsin footage for requests needing autumn woodland color and a government dam or reservoir sign as an editorial cutaway.
Period detail: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers sign and saturated 8mm color may show an early 1970s visitor record of Pokegama Dam and its reservoir setting.
Home-movie behavior: The clip carries a visitor-shot perspective, moving from scenic fall trees to a public information sign rather than staged action.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include birch trunks, green and yellow foliage, orange autumn leaves, blue sky, a white reservoir sign, red sign border, and U.S. Army Corps text.
Film character: The footage has 8mm grain, soft focus, saturated color, and slight handheld framing consistent with scanned home-movie film.
Edit role: An editor could use it as a brief insert, transition, or location-establishing cutaway between nature footage and river or dam history material.
Historical context: The frames place natural fall scenery beside federal water-management signage, offering context for recreation or infrastructure in a wooded Upper Midwest setting.
Research note: No people are visible, but the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers name and sign artwork should be reviewed for editorial use and separate copyright or trademark concerns.
Research search match: Useful search matches include 1971 Wisconsin 8mm autumn trees, Pokegama Dam sign, Upper Mississippi River Headwaters Reservoir, and Army Corps home movie footage.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with nearby shots from the same reel, then other 1971 Wisconsin or Pokegama Dam material, then broader autumn forest and public works footage.
