Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1970s editorial projects needing a brief rural Wisconsin home-movie view of spring garden preparation or small-scale soil tilling.
Period detail: The handwritten April 13, 1971 date card, 8mm look, clothing, small walk-behind tiller, bare trees, and wire fence support an early-1970s rural yard setting.
Home-movie behavior: The clip records an unstaged home-movie moment as an adult man steadily guides a tiller through a garden plot rather than posing for the camera.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a handwritten date card on grass, a man in dark outerwear, rubber boots, an orange walk-behind tiller, dark soil, bare trees, and a wire fence.
Film character: The footage has visible 8mm grain, soft focus, mild exposure variation, and a handheld home-movie steadiness that add period texture.
Edit role: An editor could use it as a short cutaway, seasonal transition, rural labor insert, or memory beat about home gardening and spring preparation.
Historical context: The scene shows modest domestic or small-farm ground preparation in La Crosse, Wisconsin, without enough visual evidence to identify the property or participants.
Research note: A visible adult figure may require likeness review, and copyright, location, and any property permissions should be assessed separately before use.
Research search match: Matches searches for 1971 8mm home movie garden tilling, rural Wisconsin spring yard work, man using walk-behind tiller, and dated home-movie farming footage.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with nearby shots from the same reel, then other 1971 La Crosse material, then broader rural gardening, planting, and spring farm-work footage.
