Grandad Bluff Park Altitude Sign and City View — Clip Details

A vintage 8mm home movie from 1971 captures a scenic view from Grandad Bluff Park in La Crosse, Wisconsin. The clip opens with a close-up of a weathered sign detailing the park's altitude above sea level (1172 ft.) and the city (650 ft.), shot on grainy Super 8 film. The scene then transitions to a sweeping panoramic vista of the city nestled in a valley, with a river winding through the landscape and distant hills under a hazy sky. The footage exhibits classic 1970s color grading and film grain, evoking a nostalgic, archival feel perfect for historical documentaries, local history projects, or retro-themed content.
