Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Supports requests for late-1950s American home-movie leisure footage, especially backyard swimming, casual recreation, and family-life inserts for documentary or educational edits.
Period detail: The white swim trunks, backyard pool setting, lawn game, and faded 8mm color may show mid-century suburban leisure patterns consistent with the supplied 1959 Indiana metadata.
Home-movie behavior: The clip has unstaged home-movie value as a man floats, smiles, waves toward the camera, and later appears in a casual yard game with another adult.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a swimming pool, a man in white trunks, a lawn, trees and shrubs, a white-clad person, a flying disc, and soft 8mm frame borders.
Film character: Soft focus, faded color, visible grain, dust specks, and slight handheld framing give the footage a physical 8mm home-movie texture.
Edit role: An editor could use it as a brief leisure insert, summer transition, family-memory beat, or cutaway between broader scenes of 1950s American domestic life.
Historical context: The footage visually documents informal warm-weather recreation around a pool and backyard, with adults interacting casually in a private-looking outdoor setting.
Research note: People are visible and faces may be identifiable, so likeness and privacy review may be needed in addition to any copyright or footage-license assessment.
Research search match: Useful search matches include 1959 Indiana 8mm pool footage, 1950s backyard leisure home movie, man in swim trunks waving, and vintage frisbee lawn game.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent footage from the same reel, then with other Indiana 1959 home movies, and then with broader 1950s summer, pool, backyard, or family recreation material.
