Two Men Swimming In Backyard Pool With Bushes In Background — Clip Details

INDIANA-1959: Two men enjoy a sunny day in a backyard swimming pool, captured on vintage 8mm film. The footage shows them relaxing and swimming in the water, with one man waving at the camera. Lush green bushes and a palm tree frame the pool, creating a classic mid-century American backyard scene. The film exhibits natural grain, slight color fading, and vertical scratches characteristic of 1950s home movies, evoking a strong sense of nostalgia and personal memory.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: 1950s Indiana home-movie pool footage suited to documentary or exhibit needs for casual mid-century leisure and backyard recreation.
Period detail: The clip may show a late-1950s residential pool setting with swim trunks, clipped hedges, pale pool coping, and a potted palm-like plant.
Home-movie behavior: Two adult men relax, swim, and acknowledge the camera, giving the scene an informal family-film quality rather than staged performance.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include two adult men, pool water, hedge planting, pale pool edge, a potted plant, and intermittent waving or swimming gestures.
Film character: The 8mm image has soft color, visible grain, vertical abrasion, uneven exposure, and a handheld home-movie contact-sheet feel.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a short memory beat, leisure cutaway, or transition into scenes about summer, domestic life, or mid-century recreation.
Historical context: The footage offers a small domestic view of outdoor recreation and social ease in a private-looking backyard pool environment.
Research note: Adult faces are visible, so likeness review may be needed; copyright, privacy, and property considerations should be assessed separately.
Research search match: Useful for searches such as 1950s Indiana home movie swimming pool, 8mm backyard leisure, adult men swimming, and vintage summer pool footage.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with other shots from the same reel, then Indiana 1959 material, then related backyard swimming or summer recreation footage.
