Adult Woman In Pool Float While Men Swim Around Her — Clip Details

Shot on 8mm film in 1959, this vintage home movie captures a nostalgic summer scene at a private pool in Indiana. An adult woman in a dark swimsuit floats on a blue inner tube while men swim and relax around her. The footage shows natural, unposed moments of leisure, with a man swimming toward the camera and another sitting at the pool's edge. The image has a soft, faded color palette typical of 1950s home movies, with visible film grain and slight wear. This authentic archival clip evokes mid-century Americana and family life.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1950s editorial or documentary sequences needing authentic home-movie footage of adults swimming and relaxing at a private Indiana pool.
Period detail: The faded color, 8mm frame edges, simple swimwear, and backyard-style pool setting support a late-1950s domestic leisure context.
Home-movie behavior: The clip preserves unstaged poolside interaction as adults float, swim, and gesture casually while the camera watches from nearby.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include pale pool water, a woman on a blue inner tube, adult men swimming, a pool edge, swimwear, soft focus, and dark film-frame borders.
Film character: The footage has soft 8mm color, visible grain, mild exposure variation, handheld framing, and small film wear marks that read as authentic archive texture.
Edit role: An editor could use it as a short cutaway, summer-memory insert, or transition beat in a sequence about mid-century leisure, family life, or swimming pools.
Historical context: The scene shows adults using a residential-style swimming pool, reflecting casual warm-weather recreation without evidence of a public event or named location.
Research note: People and faces are visible, so likeness review may be needed; copyright, privacy, and any property concerns should be checked separately.
Research search match: Relevant searches include 1959 Indiana home movie pool, 1950s adults swimming, 8mm backyard pool footage, and vintage summer leisure.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then other 1959 Indiana home movies, then related 1950s swimming pool or summer recreation footage.
