Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: 1950s Indiana home-movie pool footage suited to editorial uses about mid-century domestic leisure, family recreation, and summer swimming scenes.
Period detail: The swim caps, inflatable ring, backyard-style pool edge, and 8mm color look may show late-1950s American recreational fashion and home leisure.
Home-movie behavior: The swimmers move casually through the pool, with one woman floating on an inner tube while others paddle nearby in an unstaged family-film moment.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include blue pool water, white swim caps, a black inflatable ring, adult swimmers, a pale pool edge, grass beyond the pool, and film-frame borders.
Film character: The scan carries soft 8mm color, blue-cyan cast, visible grain, slight exposure variation, and contact-sheet framing that preserve the physical home-movie texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a summer-memory insert, domestic leisure cutaway, or transition beat within a sequence on mid-century family life.
Historical context: The clip visually documents backyard swimming as a casual social activity in a 1959 Indiana home-movie context, without identifying the people shown.
Research note: People and faces are visible, so likeness and privacy review may be needed in addition to copyright or source licensing checks.
Research search match: Relevant searches include 1959 Indiana pool home movie, 1950s backyard swimming, woman in white swim cap, black inner tube pool, and 8mm family leisure footage.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then other Indiana 1959 family footage, then broader 1950s swimming, backyard leisure, and summer recreation clips.
