Man And Lady Swim In Pool As Others Sit In Shade At — Clip Details

A vintage 8mm home movie from 1971 captures a sunny day at a California poolside. A man and a woman swim in the turquoise water, with the woman wearing a patterned swim cap. Nearby, people relax under a large red-and-white striped umbrella at a table, seeking shade on the concrete patio. The scene features a distinctive purple wall and a tiled roof, with the warm, slightly faded colors and film grain characteristic of Super 8 footage. This nostalgic clip offers authentic archival material for documentaries, editorial content, or retro-themed projects.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1970s California home-movie requests needing poolside recreation, leisure travel, or suburban resort cutaways with visible swimmers and shaded patio activity.
Period detail: The striped patio umbrella, swim cap, concrete pool deck, tiled roof, and faded 8mm color may show early 1970s leisure styling in California.
Home-movie behavior: The clip has unstaged home-movie value as swimmers linger in the pool while other adults sit casually in shade nearby.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a turquoise swimming pool, two adult swimmers, a patterned swim cap, striped umbrella, patio table, concrete deck, purple wall, and tiled roof.
Film character: The footage carries 8mm home-movie texture with soft focus, visible grain, slight exposure variation, and mild color fading under bright sun.
Edit role: An editor could use it as a short insert, memory beat, vacation cutaway, or transition into a 1970s recreation or California leisure sequence.
Historical context: The scene documents everyday warm-weather social recreation around a pool, with adults swimming and sitting in shade rather than posing for the camera.
Research note: People and faces are visible, so likeness review may be needed; no logos are apparent, but copyright, location, and property context should be checked separately.
Research search match: Matches searches for 1971 California 8mm pool footage, 1970s home movie swimming, vintage motel or patio pool, and adults relaxing by a swimming pool.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with other shots from the same reel, then California 1971 pool or travel material, then broader 1970s recreation and vacation home movies.
