Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: This 1948 New York 8mm clip can support documentary or editorial requests for late-1940s summer leisure, home-movie recreation, and candid outdoor portraiture.
Period detail: The visible swimsuit style, faded color, and metadata-supported 1948 date place the scene in a late-1940s home-movie context, with no identifiable landmark visible.
Home-movie behavior: The woman appears to playfully pose and move for the camera in an unstaged residential yard, giving the footage a casual family-film quality.
What appears in frame: The frames show a woman in a red-and-white swimsuit, bright grass, leafy trees, strong sunlight, soft focus, and dark contact-sheet borders.
Film character: The clip has visible 8mm grain, soft focus, overexposed highlights, color fading, and handheld framing that read as authentic physical-film texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a brief memory beat, summer cutaway, interstitial flash of 1940s leisure, or visual bridge in a family-history sequence.
Historical context: The scene reflects informal outdoor recreation and camera-aware posing in a private-feeling yard, without enough visual evidence to identify the residence or neighborhood.
Research note: A visible adult face and body may require likeness review; copyright, privacy, and any property considerations should be checked separately before use.
Research search match: Relevant searches include 1948 New York home movie, 8mm woman in swimsuit, 1940s summer yard footage, and vintage outdoor leisure film.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with nearby shots from the same reel, then with other New York 1948 home movies, and then with broader 1940s summer leisure or family-film material.
