Red And Brown Mushrooms Growing In Dry Grass — Clip Details

Shot on 8mm film in 1967, this vintage home movie captures a cluster of red-capped mushrooms growing in dry, sparse grass. The footage, likely filmed in Saint Petersburg, Russia, shows the fungi emerging from a dusty, sun-bleached field with a soft, dreamlike quality. The image is grainy and slightly faded, with a distinct purple-blue color cast typical of aged Super 8 film. The camera remains mostly static, focusing on the natural scene with subtle film jitter. This archival clip evokes a sense of quiet nostalgia and forgotten moments from the late 1960s.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: 1960s 8mm nature footage for productions needing a quiet archival cutaway of wild mushrooms in dry grass.
Period detail: The visible clue is the aged 8mm color rendering rather than built environment, with the 1967 date and Saint Petersburg location supported by clip metadata.
Home-movie behavior: The camera observes a small natural detail without staging, suggesting a personal home-movie interest in everyday landscape textures.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include red and brown mushroom caps, thin pale stems, dry grass, bluish faded ground cover, soft focus, film grain, and gate edges.
Film character: The clip has a faded purple-blue cast, soft focus, visible grain, mild jitter, and contact-print wear that read as physical 8mm archival texture.
Edit role: An editor could use it as a nature insert, reflective transition, or memory beat between broader travel or family-home-movie scenes.
Historical context: The footage records a modest outdoor detail from a late-1960s home-movie context, without visible people, buildings, landmarks, or social activity.
Research note: No people, brands, private property, or music are apparent, but copyright and source permissions should still be confirmed separately.
Research search match: Searchers may match this to 1967 8mm mushrooms in grass, Soviet-era home movie nature cutaway, or Saint Petersburg archival fungi footage.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then other 1967 Saint Petersburg material, then broader 1960s 8mm nature and landscape details.
