Young Man With Glasses Who Looks Very Happy Raises His — Clip Details

NEW YORK USA-1939: A young man in a white collared shirt and round glasses smiles warmly at the camera in a series of close-up shots. The black-and-white 8mm home movie footage captures his cheerful expression against a dark, indistinct background, with soft lighting highlighting his face. The grainy texture and slight flicker of the vintage film add to the nostalgic, archival quality of this classic 1930s moment. The clip begins with a brief shot of the man in a garage doorway, suggesting a casual, personal recording from a bygone era.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1930s New York home-movie requests needing a brief, personal close-up of a smiling young man for documentary, museum, education, or editorial use.
Period detail: The round eyeglasses, white collared shirt, black-and-white 8mm look, garage doorway, and visible license plate area may show late-1930s domestic filming details.
Home-movie behavior: The subject smiles directly toward the camera in an informal, cooperative pose, giving the clip candid family-film value rather than a staged studio portrait.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a young man with round glasses, a white collared shirt, a dark background, a garage doorway, siding, part of a car, and a license plate area.
Film character: The footage has strong black-and-white contrast, visible grain, slight flicker, soft focus, and home-movie framing consistent with scanned 8mm physical film.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a memory beat, character insert, family-history cutaway, or transition into a 1930s personal archive sequence.
Historical context: The clip presents a casual personal portrait in a domestic setting, reflecting the social intimacy of home-movie filming without confirming the subject's identity.
Research note: A recognizable face and a possible vehicle plate or brand detail are visible, so likeness, privacy, trademark, and plate-identification review may be needed separately from copyright review.
Research search match: Researchers may find this under 1939 New York home movie, young man with glasses smiling, black-and-white 8mm portrait, garage doorway, or 1930s family footage.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then with 1939 New York home movies, then with related 1930s family portraits, smiling adults, garages, or domestic exteriors.
