Group of Young Adults Outside Brick Building — Clip Details

A vintage 8mm home movie from 1939 captures a joyful gathering in New York, USA. The scene shifts to a man in a white shirt and trousers standing in a doorway, holding a cloth, with a license plate reading '77-11088' visible in the background. Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: 1930s New York home-movie footage suited for documentary inserts about informal social life, young adults, and everyday leisure before World War II.
Period detail: The light clothing, black-and-white 8mm look, doorway setting, and visible New York license plate support the supplied 1939 date while avoiding a more specific neighborhood claim.
Home-movie behavior: The clip preserves an unstaged home-movie moment as a young man smiles, shifts his gaze, and handles a cloth while standing near a doorway.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a young man in a white shirt, light trousers, a dark doorway or garage opening, striped siding, a chair edge, a cloth in his hands, and a license plate.
Film character: The footage has dense 8mm grain, high-contrast black-and-white exposure, contact-print framing, and slight handheld variation that read as original home-movie texture.
Edit role: Editors could use this as a brief character cutaway, social-memory beat, or transition within a sequence about 1930s family gatherings and street-level New York life.
Historical context: The frames show ordinary posed behavior outside a building, suggesting private social documentation rather than a public event or identifiable landmark.
Research note: Faces and a readable license plate are visible, so likeness, privacy, and plate-identification review may be needed separately from copyright assessment.
Research search match: Useful search matches include 1939 New York home movie, 1930s young man doorway, vintage 8mm friends gathering, and black-and-white family footage.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then other 1939 New York exteriors, then similar home-movie scenes of friends or family posing outdoors.
