Man And Woman In A Park Walking With Their Dog — Clip Details

A vintage 8mm home movie from 1947 captures a man and woman strolling through a park in New York. The woman wears a light-colored, tailored suit with a matching hat and gloves, while the man is dressed in a dark suit and tie. They walk side-by-side, accompanied by a small dog on a leash, with the man occasionally looking down at the animal. The scene unfolds in a grassy, tree-lined area with a bench visible in the background, all rendered in the grainy, slightly faded color palette characteristic of mid-century home movies.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1940s New York home-movie requests needing a quiet park-walk scene with adults, period clothing, and a dog for documentary or educational context.
Period detail: The tailored skirt suit, matching hat, gloves, dark men's suit, and leash-walk setting support a late-1940s urban leisure impression consistent with the supplied 1947 metadata.
Home-movie behavior: The value is in the unstaged walk, with the couple glancing down toward the dog as they move through grass near trees and a bench.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a woman in a light suit and hat, a man in a dark suit, a small leashed dog, grass, trees, a path edge, and a bench in the background.
Film character: The clip has the soft color, visible grain, slight fade, uneven exposure, and contact-frame instability typical of scanned 8mm home-movie material.
Edit role: An editor could use it as a short memory beat, lifestyle cutaway, or transitional insert for mid-century urban leisure, pets, or park life.
Historical context: The scene offers visual context for adult leisure and dress in a public green space, without confirming a specific park or social event beyond the supplied New York metadata.
Research note: People and faces are visible, so likeness and privacy review may be needed; no brands or private property are apparent, and copyright clearance is separate.
Research search match: Matches searches for 1947 New York 8mm home movie, 1940s couple walking dog, vintage park footage, and mid-century adults in formal clothing.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with neighboring shots from the same reel, then with other 1947 New York park footage, then with broader 1940s leisure, dog, or couple-walking scenes.
