Women In Military Uniforms Standing At Attention Outside — Clip Details

NEW YORK-1947: A line of women in dark military uniforms stands at attention outside a large institutional building. A male officer in a formal navy-style uniform with gold buttons and cap leads the formation. The women wear matching hats and dark coats, their expressions serious as they face forward. Shot on 8mm film, the footage displays warm color tones, slight grain, and the characteristic frame edges of a vintage home movie. The scene captures a moment of disciplined order, likely a training or inspection drill, with the group standing rigidly in formation under daylight.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1940s New York editorial projects needing disciplined uniformed women and officers outside an institutional setting.
Period detail: Dark coats, brimmed uniform hats, gold-button naval-style dress jackets, and the 8mm color stock support a late-1940s military or service-organization appearance.
Home-movie behavior: The clip has a bystander home-movie perspective, observing a formal formation from close range rather than presenting a staged official record.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include uniformed women, male officers in peaked caps, dark coats, gold sleeve bands, an institutional building facade, daylight, and film frame edges.
Film character: Warm color, soft focus, visible grain, slight exposure variation, and black 8mm frame borders give the footage a physical home-movie texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a short insert, cutaway, or transition for postwar service, inspection, training, or public-ceremony sequences.
Historical context: The frames show women in uniform standing at attention with male officers nearby, suggesting organized service participation without identifying the unit or event.
Research note: People and faces are visible, so likeness and contextual use should be reviewed separately from any film copyright or archive license analysis.
Research search match: Searches such as 1940s New York women in military uniforms, 8mm home movie military formation, or postwar uniform inspection may match this clip.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then other New York 1947 material, then broader 1940s uniformed formation or military ceremony footage.
