Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1960s documentary edits needing a brief cemetery funeral insert from Des Moines, Iowa, with a casket, grave setup, flowers, and home-movie texture.
Period detail: The supplied 1966 date and 8mm format support a mid-1960s setting, while the visible casket styling, floral sprays, green grave covering, and distant hearse fit that period.
Home-movie behavior: The camera observes from close beside the grave rather than staging action, giving the scene the quiet immediacy of family-shot funeral footage.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a purple casket, floral arrangements, a green-covered grave area, metal casket hardware, grass, cemetery trees, and a distant vehicle or hearse.
Film character: The clip carries a 1960s 8mm look with soft focus, saturated color shifts, visible grain, handheld framing, and a brief overexposed motion-blurred frame.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a solemn cutaway, memory beat, funeral insert, or transitional detail within a sequence about mourning, family history, or cemetery rituals.
Historical context: The footage shows a graveside funeral arrangement in a landscaped cemetery, documenting mid-century burial practice through a private home-movie perspective.
Research note: No people, faces, logos, or brands are visible, but funeral subject matter is sensitive and copyright, cemetery permissions, and estate context should be reviewed separately.
Research search match: Matches searches for 1966 Des Moines funeral footage, 8mm cemetery home movie, purple casket grave flowers, vintage hearse cemetery, and 1960s burial scene.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with nearby footage from the same reel, then other Des Moines or 1966 family footage, then broader cemetery, funeral, remembrance, and home-movie sequences.
