Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: 1972 8mm home-movie footage of tigers at a drive-through wildlife park, useful for documentary inserts on family travel, roadside attractions, captive wildlife, or 1970s leisure culture.
Period detail: The blue American sedan, palm-lined road, and visitor-shot zoo setting may show early 1970s vacation travel consistent with the supplied 1972 Grand Canyon, Arizona metadata.
Home-movie behavior: The clip carries an unstaged tourist perspective, with the camera observing resting tigers from a safe distance as a car passes through the animal enclosure.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include resting tigers, grass and shade, a blue sedan with occupants, palm trees, a roadside edge, logs, rocks, and sunlit park grounds.
Film character: The 8mm scan shows soft focus, visible grain, warm color, slight handheld movement, and exposure shifts that read as authentic home-movie texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a brief cutaway, travel-memory beat, transition from canyon tourism to roadside attractions, or illustrative insert for captive big cats.
Historical context: The footage offers visual context for car-based wildlife viewing and family vacation filming without making claims beyond the visible drive-through zoo environment.
Research note: People appear inside the passing car, so likeness review may be needed; copyright, location access, animal facility rights, and any property permissions should be assessed separately.
Research search match: Searches such as 1972 8mm drive-through zoo tiger, Grand Canyon Arizona wildlife park home movie, vintage tiger roadside attraction, and 1970s family vacation animal park may match this clip.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then other 1972 Grand Canyon or Arizona travel footage, then broader 1970s zoo, roadside attraction, and family vacation material.
