Woman and Man Read Document at Resort Pool — Clip Details

Shot on 8mm film in 1978, this vintage home movie captures a sunny day at a Las Vegas resort pool. A woman in a blue and white patterned swimsuit stands with a man in a dark uniform, both smiling as they read a document together. Palm trees, lounge chairs, and a thatched umbrella frame the scene. The footage shows natural film grain and slight color fading, with a brief, contrasting clip of a person in winter gear in the snow. This archival clip offers a nostalgic glimpse into mid-century leisure and travel.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: 1970s Las Vegas resort-pool home movie footage for edits needing leisure travel, vacation behavior, or a brief seasonal contrast insert.
Period detail: The swimsuits, poolside lounge furniture, palm landscaping, and soft 8mm color may show late-1970s resort leisure style.
Home-movie behavior: The value is in an unstaged moment as two adults smile and read a paper together beside the pool, seen from a casual home-movie viewpoint.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include two adults, a paper or document, a resort pool, palm trees, lounge chairs, a thatched umbrella, and a brief snowy figure.
Film character: The clip has visible 8mm grain, soft focus, handheld framing, color fade, and contact-print edge artifacts that give it physical-film texture.
Edit role: An editor could use it as a vacation insert, Las Vegas memory beat, poolside cutaway, or visual transition from summer leisure to winter contrast.
Historical context: The footage places adults in a resort leisure setting, with pool furniture and warm-weather clothing contrasting against a brief snow scene.
Research note: People and recognizable faces are visible, so copyright licensing should be considered separately from likeness or location permissions.
Research search match: Useful searches include 1978 Las Vegas pool home movie, 8mm resort vacation, vintage couple reading paper, and summer winter contrast footage.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then other 1978 Las Vegas footage, then vintage resort leisure or seasonal contrast material.
