Summer Time People Gathering Drinking And Eating Having... — Clip Details

Shot on 8mm film in 1978, this vintage home movie captures a relaxed summer gathering in Las Vegas. A group of friends lounges on sun chairs on a grassy lawn, dressed in classic 70s attire—bright orange pants, striped shirts, and swimwear. Men and women socialize, drink beer from plastic cups, and share laughter under the warm sun. The footage shows natural interactions, casual conversation, and a carefree atmosphere, with a man in sunglasses holding a drink in the final frames. The grainy, color-bleached quality of the Super 8 film enhances its nostalgic, authentic feel.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1970s Las Vegas leisure, resort, or poolside social-life requests needing brief home-movie footage of adults relaxing outdoors.
Period detail: Visible period clues include bright orange pants, striped casual wear, lounge chairs, swimwear, plastic drink cups, and soft 8mm color typical of late-1970s home movies.
Home-movie behavior: The value is in unstaged adult social behavior as people sit, talk, drink, glance toward the camera, and move casually through a lawn or poolside setting.
What appears in frame: Frames show adults on blue and yellow lounge chairs, a grassy lawn, swimwear, orange trousers, plastic cups of beer, trees, and a low building in the background.
Film character: The clip has a handheld 8mm look with soft focus, visible grain, mild color fade, uneven exposure, and contact-print framing that reinforces its home-movie origin.
Edit role: An editor could use it as a short cutaway, memory beat, or transitional insert for 1970s vacation, resort culture, summer gatherings, or casual adult socializing.
Historical context: The footage reflects a relaxed outdoor social setting in Las Vegas in 1978, with adults dressed for warm weather and leisure rather than a staged public event.
Research note: Visible adult faces and likenesses require review, while no logos are apparent; copyright and likeness permissions should be assessed separately before use.
Research search match: Relevant searches include 1978 Las Vegas home movie, 1970s poolside gathering, adults drinking beer on lawn, Super 8 summer leisure, and vintage resort social scene.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with neighboring shots from the same reel, then other 1978 Las Vegas leisure footage, then broader 1970s summer gathering or resort social scenes.
