Saying Goodbyes To The Family At Night — Clip Details

A vintage 8mm home movie from 1968 captures a quiet, intimate moment at a brick house in Clarksdale, Arizona. At night, two figures stand in the doorway of a home marked 1340, one in a light-colored shirt and the other in dark clothing, sharing a tender farewell. A festive tree decoration hangs on the wall beside them, and warm interior light spills out, contrasting with the dark exterior. The grainy, slightly blurred quality of the Super 8 film evokes a nostalgic, personal memory of family and departure.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: 1960s 8mm home-movie footage for productions needing an intimate nighttime family goodbye or domestic departure moment.
Period detail: The brick doorway, porch awning, house number 1340 and wall tree decoration may show mid-century domestic styling visible in a 1968 home-movie record.
Home-movie behavior: The clip preserves an unstaged farewell as two adults pause in a lit doorway before the door closes.
What appears in frame: Visible details include two adults, a brick exterior, open doorway, house number 1340, scalloped awning, wall tree decoration, porch items and dark night surroundings.
Film character: The 8mm scan has soft focus, visible grain, uneven exposure and slight frame jitter that give the nighttime scene a physical home-movie texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a brief memory beat, nighttime transition, domestic insert or quiet cutaway for departure and family separation themes.
Historical context: The scene offers social context for ordinary family leave-taking at a private home without supporting broader claims about Clarksdale or Arizona life.
Research note: People are visible and the home exterior is identifiable, so likeness, privacy and property-context review may be needed separate from copyright status.
Research search match: Useful searches include 1968 8mm family goodbye, nighttime doorway home movie, Arizona domestic exterior, and vintage farewell footage.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then 1968 Clarksdale or Arizona home exteriors, then broader family farewell and nighttime domestic scenes.
