Transporting A Black Car Onto A Boat — Clip Details

IRELAND-1969: A vintage 8mm home movie captures a black car being loaded onto a ship. The footage shows the vehicle being lowered by a crane onto the deck, with two men in dark uniforms overseeing the operation. The car features a prominent oval license plate reading '912 Z-1317' and a 'USA' sticker. The scene unfolds at night, with the car's red taillights glowing against the dark, grainy film, evoking a sense of mid-century travel and maritime transport.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1960s documentary edits needing a brief home-movie view of car ferry or ship loading in Ireland.
Period detail: The oval plate, USA sticker, dark sedan styling, uniformed men, and crane loading may show mid-century international motoring and ferry travel.
Home-movie behavior: The footage has a traveler-shot viewpoint, watching a personal car being handled on a ship rather than a staged transport scene.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a black car, oval number plate, USA sticker, red taillights, ship deck, crane sling, uniformed men, and gangway structure.
Film character: The 8mm scan carries heavy grain, low-light exposure, soft focus, and slight handheld framing that preserve the night-loading texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as an insert, travel transition, maritime cutaway, or memory beat for a vehicle arriving by ship.
Historical context: The clip visually places private automobile travel within a shipboard loading process, with crew or attendants supervising the transfer.
Research note: People, vehicle identifiers, and visible stickers or marks require review for likeness, privacy, trademark, and plate-display concerns separate from copyright.
Research search match: Searches might include 1969 Ireland home movie car loaded onto ship, black sedan crane lift, ferry deck vehicle transport, or USA sticker car travel.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with the same reel, then Ireland 1969 travel footage, then broader 1960s ferry, ship deck, automobile transport, or home-movie travel scenes.
