Elkhart Illinois USA-1964: Couple Standing by Light Green Car

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit

Useful for 1960s American home-movie requests needing suburban arrival or departure footage with adults beside a mid-century car.

Period detail

The car styling, dress, hat, and low residential houses support a mid-1960s domestic neighborhood setting, with the exact car model not identifiable from the frames.

Home-movie behavior

The value is in the casual, unstaged moment as a couple stands near the car and the man later walks across the yard.

What appears in frame

Visible elements include two adults, a light green car, white houses, lawns, shrubs, a driveway or road, trees, and 8mm frame borders.

Film character

The clip has soft 8mm color, visible grain, mild fading, gate edges, and handheld framing that preserve its home-movie texture.

Edit role

An editor could use it as a brief memory beat, suburban cutaway, arrival insert, or transition into a family visit sequence.

Historical context

The footage shows everyday mid-century residential life through clothing, car use, lawns, and modest detached houses without documenting a specific public event.

Research note

People and residential exteriors are visible, so likeness and property review may be needed even where copyright status is separately licensed.
