Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit

Suits requests for 1960s American leisure and recreational culture; usable as a period activity insert in documentaries covering mid-century suburban life, gun culture history, or personal archive narratives.

Period detail

Striped short-sleeve shirt, dark belted trousers, and warm 8mm color palette are consistent with mid-1960s casual dress; visible sprocket-edge borders and film grain support the 1964 date indicated in metadata.

Home-movie behavior

Handheld framing of a friend or family member at an informal outdoor shooting range captures the participatory, unscripted character of mid-century family leisure documentation.

What appears in frame

Young man with glasses in striped short-sleeve shirt, rifle raised to shoulder, circular bullseye target on a wooden stand, close-cut grass field, dense deciduous tree line, visible 8mm sprocket borders, warm mid-century color.

Film character

Warm color saturation, fine grain, and visible sprocket-edge borders are characteristic of mid-century 8mm home-movie stock; slight motion blur on the rifle barrel adds kinetic texture without obscuring the scene.

Edit role

Works as a period cutaway or activity insert in documentaries on American leisure culture, mid-century gun ownership norms, or personal coming-of-age retrospectives; brief enough to anchor a single beat.

Historical context

Outdoor target shooting was a common recreational activity in mid-century American communities; the informal home-movie framing suggests casual family documentation rather than organized club or competitive shooting.
