Los Angeles California USA-1962: Three Well Trained Seals Doing Tricks At Marineland

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit

Supports 1960s editorial requests for visitor-shot Southern California marine park entertainment, trained sea lion performances, and mid-century animal attraction cutaways.

Period detail

The white-uniformed handlers, red show backdrop, Marineland sign, and 8mm color home-movie texture place the scene in a 1962-era public marine attraction setting.

Home-movie behavior

The camera observes from a visitor seat or walkway across the pool, preserving the casual spectator viewpoint rather than a staged publicity angle.

What appears in frame

Visible elements include a turquoise pool, concrete performance platform, white-uniformed handlers, trained sea lions, display boxes, a barrel prop, red fencing, and a Marineland sign.

Film character

The clip has visible 8mm grain, soft focus, slight color fading, gate edges, and uneven exposure that read as physical home-movie evidence.

Edit role

Editors can use it as a brief insert, nostalgic transition, animal-show cutaway, or memory beat within stories about 1960s leisure and marine attractions.

Historical context

The footage documents a public animal performance environment where trainers and sea lions appear together before an unseen audience in bright outdoor conditions.

Research note

People and the Marineland sign are visible, so copyright, trademark, location context, and possible likeness considerations should be reviewed for intended use.
