Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: 1960s 8mm home-movie footage for productions needing a brief animal behavior cutaway from Calcutta, India.
Period detail: The frames show faded color 8mm imagery with concrete edging, grass, and an urban waterfront or bridge view that may reflect early-1960s travel filming.
Home-movie behavior: The camera observes a chimpanzee sitting quietly, handling food and bringing it to its mouth in an unstaged visitor-shot moment.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a seated chimpanzee, grass, curved concrete ledge, pale wall or path, food in hand, and a distant bridge over water.
Film character: Soft focus, visible grain, gate edges, muted color, and slight exposure variation give the clip a physical 8mm home-movie texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a short insert, travel-memory beat, animal behavior cutaway, or transition within a broader Calcutta reel.
Historical context: The clip places an animal subject within an outdoor urban setting, with the bridge frame adding broader city context without confirming a landmark.
Research note: No people, brands, or logos are visible, but animal setting, location identification, and underlying film copyright should still be reviewed.
Research search match: Useful searches include 1960s Calcutta 8mm chimpanzee, vintage India animal footage, home movie monkey eating, and urban wildlife cutaway.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent reel shots, then other 1962 Calcutta material, then vintage India urban scenes or animal behavior footage.
