Workers at Riverside Scooping Water and Tending Boats — Clip Details

Shot on 8mm film in 1962, this vintage footage captures a bustling riverside scene in Calcutta, India. A large steel truss bridge spans the river in the background, while numerous wooden fishing boats rest on the muddy riverbank. Local people, many in traditional clothing, are seen working manually—scooping water, carrying loads, and tending to the boats. The film exhibits classic Super 8 grain, color fading, and slight motion blur, offering a nostalgic glimpse into daily life and labor along the river. The scene is candid and documentary-style, viewed through a dark frame, suggesting it was filmed from a window or doorway.
