Two Ladies Walking In Grass In Front Of House — Clip Details

Shot on 8mm film in 1962, this vintage home movie captures a serene suburban scene in Illinois. The clip opens on a white clapboard house with large windows, partially obscured by a tree trunk and lush green foliage. The camera then pans to reveal two women in floral dresses walking away across a sun-dappled lawn, their figures framed by mature trees. The footage exhibits classic Super 8 grain, soft focus, and natural color tones, evoking a nostalgic mid-century American memory. Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Serves documentary editors needing early-1960s American suburban domestic B-roll or establishing shots for Midwest family and everyday-life narratives.
Period detail: The two-story clapboard house with screened upper windows and the women's mid-calf summer dresses are consistent with early-1960s American suburban domestic style.
Home-movie behavior: The camera follows two women across a private lawn, capturing a candid, unstaged domestic moment typical of family 8mm recording.
What appears in frame: Large tree trunk in foreground, two-story clapboard house with multi-pane upper windows, manicured summer lawn, dense green foliage, two women in light summer dresses walking away, dappled sunlight through mature trees.
Film character: Warm, slightly faded color rendition with visible grain and occasional soft focus characteristic of 8mm home-movie stock from the early 1960s.
Edit role: Functions as a suburban establishing shot or nostalgic memory cutaway when a narrator references early-1960s Midwestern family or domestic life.
Historical context: The house style, lawn upkeep, and women's summer dresses reflect mid-century American suburban domesticity; footage suggests a casual warm-weather family visit recorded on home-movie film.
Research note: Two adult women are visible from behind; faces not shown, reducing identification risk, but likeness rights should be assessed per jurisdiction; house exterior may carry private-property considerations.
Research search match: Likely found by researchers searching '1960s suburban home movie', 'Midwest family 8mm', 'women walking vintage', or 'early 1960s American backyard lawn'.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with other clips from the same Illinois reel; then with 1960s Midwest suburban home-movie footage; then with domestic everyday-life material from the same decade.
